I try to remain positive and give them every minute possible together, because that is all I can do. I cannot heal the patient, but I can lessen a moment of suffering for someone, and offer comfort, in some small way to a loved one. It is the simple things. Am I paid too much? I don’t think so. I give it my all, every shift, and it is difficult.
