There was no way that he could have gone into the Twins alone, killed all the hundreds of Frey and Bolton men and saved Catelyn, even if she had been still alive - and she was probably already dead anyway. If she had really wanted him to suffer as justice for his crimes, she would have brought up Mycah. But instead, it was Sandor who brought him up, trying to convince Arya to kill him to avenge Mycah. It didn’t work.
