Not impossible, but highly unlikely. It was a huge, impressive animal, however it just didn’t have the weapons T Rex, Giganotosaurus and others possessed; they were apex predators, Spinosaurus was not. It was still a magnificent dinosaur, it was simply equipped to fish, not hunt, and in the minds of most people, the king has to have been a hunter, and Spinosaurus simply didn’t fill that niche.
