Tony Stark needs to be taken down a peg or two. Or more. Pepper is the most important character in his life. If she is taken by Thanos, he will see his flaw. He is self-obsessed. He is full of himself. He figured he could take the wheel and take down Thanos. That didn’t happen. If he loses Pepper, he will have to realize that he can’t just walk that off like he has ignored all of his other mistakes including Sokovia and Ultron.
