There’s actually a few different meanings to “I love you to the moon and back.” It really depends on who you are and your belief systems. The first one meaning would be showing the amount of love equaling the distance. The moon is pretty far away and with the distance equaling the amount of love, well that’s quite a bit of love that they have for you.
